"Wrinkle-free," "stain-resistant," heavy prints, vinyl decals
Wash all new clothes before first wear. Secondhand baby clothes have been washed many times, reducing residual chemicals. Avoid fabric softener on kids' clothes — it coats fibers with chemicals. Line-dry when possible.
"100% cotton" doesn't mean organic or chemical-free — conventional cotton is one of the most pesticide-heavy crops. "Oeko-Tex" tests the finished product for harmful substances but doesn't mean organic.
